FYI-We are moving!

Yep, you heard right. We are moving! But don’t get your panties in a wad….its just the site that is moving. HeeHee

I somehow ended up with two sites (this one and another one called Fulltime Nudist) and folks are getting a bit confused. So I am exporting this site onto the other one. That one has a shorter name and is easier to find.

So can you please go to the other site and bookmark it? Or better yet-just subscribe to it and you won’t miss anything! This one will be deleted soon so don’t delay.

We look forward to seeing you there…and apologize for any inconvenience.

Get busy-its a gloomy rainy day!

Since this is our first season living full time as nudists, its been hard to get anything done. For real! With the season in full swing, the weather has been (mostly) sunny & hot; and its so delicious to just lounge by the pool & chat with old (and new!) friends. Plus, there have been so many events scheduled, it was hard to skip them.

But I didn’t realize that I had been shurking my domestic goddess duties until we had a gloomy rainy day. Go figure! As I sat inside with my kitties and watched the rain pound the ground outside, I decided that it would be a good idea to get busy.

We still had a couple of full moving boxes sitting untouched, and in this tiny area-they were taking up precious space. So, organized diva that I am, I made a list of things to do when the weather is bad. It was long!

Sheesh. I need to get busy…

Nudist Community = Family

We are well settled into our home now and getting to know our new community better. I didn’t realize it until this past weekend but these people are our new family.

Let’s face it, we are social animals. And when we are introduced into a new ‘pack’, so to speak, we find out quickly who we can depend on.

Now, what is MOST interesting about this new family, is that it is an extended family. It includes, not just the full time residents that live here, but also people that visit frequently (and sometimes not so frequently).

We have been members of this nudist park for six years now. And for the first five years, we met and made friends with tons of people from all over the world. Yet, a few of them are here a lot more often than the others and we consider them our friends.

Through the years we have shared with them-new loves, deaths, health issues and economic woes. We have laughed and cried together. We’ve see their children grow each year and wonder how they got so tall over the winter. We compare new scars and inquire about ill parents.

And every once in a while, these friends end up in the hospital. That happened about a month ago, to a dear friend of ours. This past weekend, she was back. And this ENTIRE community (those that live here and those that don’t), embraced this woman with open arms.

Every time we saw her, she was surrounded by people checking in on her. She was laughing and hugging everyone. Friends told her how much she was missed and meant it. You could see it in their eyes. This wasn’t just a show. It was for real. They really cared about her and what she went through.

It was very touching. And you know what? Everyone was nude and it didn’t make any difference. That might surprise folks that don’t ‘get’ social nudism. They think we are all having sex in the middle of the pool and swapping partners. Bull Hockey! We are a real community and we are a family. Get to know us. You just might learn something about yourself.

Nude Bowling?

Yep, you heard right! Last night a fairly large group of us went bowling…in the nude. We took over the whole downstairs of a local bowling alley and had a blast.

From 6PM to 9PM, there was nude bowling, nude putt-putt, and nude socializing in a public place. It was awesome! There was great music playing in the background and black lights with lots of fun glow-in-the-dark paint. Heck even our shoelaces were glowing!

When we got there, the place was hopping. And as we settled into our 1st game, we saw lots of friends, doing the same. Everyone was laughing and smiling. It was a good night filled with social nudity and good friends!

It was so cool to be able to do an ordinary thing, like bowling, in the nude. Since we live full time as nudists, I guess we are more aware of how we are limited in where we can go without textiles.

Makes you think about other things we could do in the nude. Like I mentioned a few days ago, shopping. Or maybe just the simple act of driving somewhere. Wouldn’t it be great if we could do that and not worry about putting on clothes just to run an errand? Maybe someday!

Until then, I guess we will take what we can get.

Why Can’t We Shop in the Nude?

I had to take the drive of shame today. That’s what I call it when I have to put clothes on and leave the park. Its understood that we have to do it for our jobs but any other time is mine and it just bugs the heck out of me when I have put clothes on!

It was time to go grocery shopping and I couldn’t put it off any longer. Hubby actually had pizza for breakfast this morning. So I knew it was time.

It was in the upper 90’s as I drove my car out of the park and my clothes were sticking to me. I went to reach for my towel to wipe the sweat from my forehead and realized that I didn’t have it with me.  That’s pretty bad when you forget your not nude!

I kinda like that. Not sweating (!) but the fact that I am getting used to living full time as a nudist.

So I finished my shopping, got home and put all the grocery’s away.  But the FIRST thing I did was strip off those hot sweaty clothes! Ah-freedom!!

I think there is some pizza left from breakfast….time for lunch!

Life is like a game of darts-you never know what your gonna get

We have a weekly nude game of Sunday darts that many folks like to play. Its sort of a tradition. Most of the players are regulars and a lot of them finish off their weekends at the park with that game. As one woman said today ‘I look forward to this game all week’.

There are usually about 10 participants but sometimes it swells to about 15 (when we can talk newbies into playing). Plus we have groupies (family & friends), that like to watch and heckle us. Its all in good fun though.

We have a smaller group of dart players that practice during the week in the evenings. All of them are very good. Games are filled with a camaraderie that is positive, supportive, and has a touch of just enough jibe to keep it fun.

But during the Sunday game, all bets are off. And its interesting to watch these really talented players miss a shot. Considering that they throw literally hundreds of darts a week, and they practice with lots of diligence, they sometimes score low during a turn at the dart board.

Why is that? I am not sure, but I think it has to do with peer pressure or maybe performance issues and crowds. But I could be wrong.

Anyway, the point I am making, is that even though there is tough competition, everyone is supportive of each other. No really, they really are! There are lots of kudos, high fives, and rounds of applause. Even if they don’t make a good score, they are made to feel that it was OK and they will do better next time. Plus, if a person is knocked out of the competition, everyone sings a farewell song to them. Have I mentioned how much I enjoy living here???

So how can a dart game be likened to real life? You never know what will be thrown at you. And you never know what you will throw. Its always a surprise when the dart actually goes into the slot it was supposed to. I have been known to do happy dances to celebrate a small victory, like hitting a number I was throwing at. Its the small things in life that make us happiest.

So, I didn’t win this week (or any week for that matter!), but I did hang out to watch the winner do a victory fist pump and shake hands with everyone.

And as people said their goodbyes, and packed up cars to leave, I wandered over to the pool. It was empty for the first time all weekend and I silently slipped in the cool water for a dip. I could hear a few left over firecrackers popping in the distance, a small crowd of revelers cheering on their basketball team at a home nearby, and birds chirping.

I watched the sun dip down into a perfect sunset and smiled. It was a good day.

Independence Day Highlights

Most of the people at the park this weekend, reserved their accommodations almost a year ago. Its the time of year when folks take vacations to ‘get away from it all’. For them to choose a non-clothing optional nudist park for this premium date speaks volumes.

As my husband and I lounged nude on the dark side of the pool (in the shade) this afternoon, we saw nude children playing in the pool, nude adults in animated conversation, and we could smell the grills working overtime. I turned to him and said in an awed voice ‘we live here’. And we both looked at each other and smiled.

Among the revelers were: families with children, young couples, bikers, serious tanners, elderly couples nodding off in the sunshine, and some folks with hangovers from the night before. There was music playing in the background, children laughing and splashing each other in the pool, and a hum of chatter. And you know what? No one was arguing, fighting or even frowning.

Right now, I can hear some pretty bad karaoke being sung and giggles from the audience.  Everyone applauds and supports the efforts of those on stage and there is happiness in the air. I don’t know about you, but I really like my neighborhood!

Overall, its been a great weekend so far.

July 4th: Red, White and Tanned

This is a HUGE weekend for nudist parks and ours is no exception. The pool area has about 3 times more people than yesterday and they keep coming!  By tomorrow evening, the place will be wall-to-wall with naked bodies.

We have lots of events scheduled, including the obligatory annual fireworks display. It’s always quite a show and everyone has sore necks the following day, from staring up at the sky for so long.   There will be tons of food with a lot of barbecues smoking up a storm and delicious smells filling the air.

But the biggest attraction is being pool side. I just came from there and you wouldn’t believe all the nude red, white and tanned bodies that are lounging all around it. We have three sides to pick from. They are: the sunny side, the end that slowly gets shade by mid afternoon, and the shady side. I like to call it the ‘dark side’. That’s where I set up my nest (a lounge chair covered with a pad and two matching beach towels). It’s very comfy in 100 degree weather!

Every year we get 3 types of sun worshipers:

  1. Tanned and on a mission-These folks come prepared. They are already VERY dark and spend the entire time here, slathering on tanning oil and baking. They never get in the pool or move to the shaded area. These are some serious tanners!
  2. Virgin skin that has never seen the light of day-I cringe when I see them come in. Sometimes they apply tanning lotion but usually they just lay out and bake until they are red as a lobster. It hurts just to watch. We met a young couple here, a few years ago, and the woman was getting so red, I was afraid she would get sun poisoning, or a sun stroke or something! We spoke with her (and her fella), while in the pool, about mid afternoon, and expressed our concern. She just smiled and said she would be fine. Now when we see them arrive at the beginning of each season, she comes over to us and says that she brought suntan lotion and will apply it generously. She learned her lesson that year-the hard way.
  3. Regular Nudists-yep, the rest of them are nudists too, but they haven’t quite got the right idea yet. Being a nudist doesn’t mean trying to be the darkest body at the pool (and I’m not saying there is anything wrong with it!), nor does it mean that you have to get burned to prove that you are one. Heck, we have neighbors here that never go to the pool! They are about as un-tanned as you can get-yet they are still full time nudists. But the rest of us work up to a tan, little by little. This year I got a gardeners tan before the season even started. And my friends and I would lay out in our yards for an hour or so, when we had the time (and weather permitting), to get a more even tan. Let’s face it, if we are going to be nude out in the summer sun, its probably a good idea to get our skin used to it. Just makes sense!

So there you have it. The unofficial (my personal opinion) explanation, for how folks like to tan at a nudist park. And guess what? It’s just like anywhere else! That’s what’s so wonderful about living here. We are just like everyone else, except we do everything without clothes on. What a concept!

I pinch myself daily!

I just came from the pool and had to share something.

The sky was like a huge deep sapphire. The blue was so, um, blue! I can’t explain how crystal clear it was. And there were no clouds up there either. Just peaceful blue along with the sunshine.

Then there was just a faint brush of wind against the skin. Just a touch. Perfect for a summer day.

And the pool had been cooled from recent rains. After laying out nude, in the warm sunshine, the pool was truly refreshing.

So yes….I pinch myself daily, especially after a day like this.

Just thought I would share it with all of you.

Summer is in full bloom!

I can’t believe its already the end of June! Where has the time gone?

Well, since the season started here at the park, we have spent a lot of time hanging out at the pool, the dart deck, and chatting with new & old friends. Hubby has become quite proficient at playing darts! He spends most of his afternoons playing with other full time nudists that live here. Its a sort of club. Usually a few other folks will meander in and play a game or two but mostly its the guys from the hood. Who would have thought that we would be playing darts, in the nude (in public!) and meeting other nude folks. Just like its an every day thing. Oh yeah..it is! HaHa I keep pinching myself because I can’t believe we live full time as nudists now!

And I have been puttering around in my garden nude as usual. Because of the amount of rain we have been getting lately, my squash and zucchini have called it quits. They are done for the season. But I learned a lot about growing them this year! And, we had a few of them for dinner a few times. Very tasty! Nothing tastes quite a good as something you grew yourself!

Fresh produce from my garden!

Last month, we both started part time jobs and they are working out well (except for the fact that we have to put clothes on!). We still have time to see friends and get some pool time-so life is pretty darn good right now.

I am still couponing and finding deals at the grocery store. Its a challenge at times but I am getting better at it. I make most of our meals from scratch, which makes them more nutritious as well as low cost. Hubby & I both have lost some weight. I rock!

Ok, that’s about it for now. I need to head outside and see who showed up at the pool! This is so much fun…
